ADOPTED: Charming and Tidy: Cat of the Week

Hello there, my name is Madame Frances. How do you do?

My mum raised me to be a lady. I’ve got the best manners in the shelter. I am polite, quiet, and keep my cage very neat and tidy. In fact, I have the cleanest cage in my room and I am proud of that!

Although I would be perfectly happy with any family, I would be the ideal cat for an older person looking for a quiet, yet loving companion.

I hope you’ve found me as charming as my mum did. Now you go talk things over and think about taking me home; I am going to have my afternoon tea.

ADOPTED It's a Christmas Mystery

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There's just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is...

You and a new family!

Hi, my name is Mystery and it sure is a mystery to me as to why I've been here so long. It's even more of a mystery as to why someone would abandoned me in the lobby of Small Miracles Cat Rescue.

I am a sweet girl that loves to play and be held. I'd be a great addition to any family as the only cat. Please make my wish come true and take me home for Christmas!

ADOPTED: Spirited Shyla: Cat of the Week

Roar! My name is Shyla. I look like a wild bobcat or lynx with the little black tufts on the top of my ears. I might not have spots like they do, but I still have a stunning coat and the same mysterious golden brown eyes. I also love to climb and chace things. Basically, I like to pretend I’m one of them.

But don’t let my “wild” appearance fool you. I am a loving little lady; having been here since April, I would love to have a new home in time for the holidays.

I am very pleasant and appreciate any affection. If you come into my room at the shelter, I’ll be one of the first to greet you. And if you sit down, it will only be a matter of time before I am curled up in your lap.

There are only 12 more days until Christmas so hurry into Small Miracles and take me home today! Don't forget to also visit my Small Miracles buddies at the Ellicott City Petco or Columbia's Petco and Today's Pet.

ADOPTED: Smooth Talking Tom Cat Looking for Love

ADOPTED

Hello Ladies, I’m Tommy and if I could rearrange the alphabet, I would put U and I together. I am one fine looking Tom cat.

My fur is smooth as butter and my purr is sweet as honey. I sure am a great catch. So great in fact that when my time was up at a city shelter and it was my turn to be put down, I was rescued and sent to Small Miracles for a second chance at a home.

Now I know what you’re thinking, those smooth talking, strapping young men are usually lacking in the personality department. Well, not me.

I am as sweet and loving as I am handsome. I’ll melt in your arms when you pick me up and you will get lost in my beautiful green eyes. What do you think? Say 5:00 tonight, you pick me up?

ADOPTED: Special Kitty Needs a Special Home

Hello, my name is Priscilla. Did you see Dancing with the Stars last night? Boy that Derek Hough is a cutie pie! All those stories of the Stars losing weight sure has gotten me inspired to get in shape! I can’t keep up with those fast dancers or that cardio kick-boxing nonsense, I’m more a beginners Zumba type of gal.

I’ve tried a few diets; Atkins, South Beach Diet, and WeightWatchers. And the one that makes me felt he best? Grain free. Yes, you heard me right. I’m a cat on a grain free diet and that’s what makes me special needs. I’m worth the extra effort of handling my dietary needs. I always have a smile on my face and eagerly await any affection. Now, if you hurry over here, you can bring my home in time to watch the Dancing with the Stars results show tonight!

Hope to see you soon at Small Miracles Cat Rescue!

ADOPTED: Assignment: Looking for Love

ADOPTED:
Call me Bond. James Bond. Or Butch. Either way, call me yours.

My real name is Butch. But, I much prefer my spy name: Bond, James Bond.

I seem to attract the ladies a lot more with that name. I am very friendly and --need I say? -- handsome.

I was assigned to Small Miracles Cat Rescue over a year and a half ago. I am undercover as the shelter greeter and hang out on the desk offering guests the opportunity to scratch my chin before proceeding to visit the other cats.

I was tasked with securing the premises at night, protecting against the infiltration of the enemy fleas, and overseeing the fair distribution of wet cat food. My last detail oversaw the successful transfer of a group of shih-tzus from West Virginia. (Yes, the shelter now has dogs thanks to me).

This deployment has been rewarding, but I’d never imagined I would be here so long. Every day I hope to get re-assigned to a residential location. And if that new location would have kids, well, life couldn’t get much better than that.

ADOPTED: Add Little Harmony to Your Life

ADOPTED
Hello! My name is Harmony and I am a pretty little lady waiting to find my fur-ever home.

My life started out on the wrong beat. I got pregnant young and my owner decided she didn’t want me any more. Luckily Small Miracles Cat Rescue gave me and my babies a second chance.

I love affection and will melt in your arms. And I’m sure I will be in purr-fect harmony with your home.

I hope my story struck the right chord with you! Please stop by Small Miracles and visit me and the rest of my ensemble!

ADOPTED: P is For Pandora

ADOPTED!
Give me a P – A – N – D – O – R – A ! What does that spell? Pandora!

That’s me, and when I grow up, I want to be a Ravens cheerleader. I’m purrfect for the job. I’m young, beautiful and full of positive energy. I am a sweet little girl who is always happy and loves attention. Plus, I’m the color of a Raven.

Pretty cool, right?

I want my own team to cheer for so I’d love to have my own family; the bigger the better! I love playing with my purple pompom toy, but nothing would be better than a real family.

Please take me home in time to see the Ravens play the Jets on Sunday. I can’t wait to cheer on my favorite team with you! I’ll be waiting for you at Small Miracles Cat Rescue.

ADOPTED: Bentley: Cute as a Button and Looking for a Home

Hiya! I’m Bentley and just about as cute as a kitten can be. I’m 5 months old, and because I am older and a little shy compared to all these nutty kittens zipping around, I often get overlooked.

But there is someone that always notices me—I made sure of that. I have the lady who writes these articles wrapped so tightly around my paw.

She is completely smitten by this kitten’s boyish charm. As soon as she opens my cages, I bat my eyes lovingly at her and then roll over. And then I roll over again and again just in case the first time wasn’t cute enough. Then, while lying down, I stretch out my paws toward her and knead them in the air to make myself irresistibly cute and roll over again.

When she finally scoops me up in her arms, I snuggle into her as close as I can, purr, and knead my paws some more. I try my best to convince her not to put me back down.

I don’t know if she likes me more because I have mastered the art of cuteness or because I remind her of her most favorite cat ever. Either way, I hope she convinces you to stop by Small Miracles Cat Rescue and take me home!

ADOPTED: Frannie: Fabulously Furry Feline Looking for Love

Hello! My name is Frannie. I know what you are thinking – I can't decide which is more confused: that girl’s fur or those people down
in Washington trying to figure out that whole debt mess. I may have just about every color fur, but I like it that way!

Now back to politics. I support a good solid health care plan. You just never know where that hairball may get lodged or what plant or other small household object I may eat.

However, I do like to be fiscally conservative. I have nine lives after all so I do need to plan carefully. But hey, even I have to splurge on Fancy Feast from time to time.

I am sweet, loving, get along with everyone and I have just the right amount of catitude. I’m not trying to run for office, but I will run right into your arms if you come visit me at Small Miracles Cat Rescue.

ADOPTED: Give this Princess the Regal Treatment She Deserves

ADOPTED:
Princess Sharon is looking for a home. Do you have room for royalty?

Dreams can come true! Or, at least that is what I like to believe. My name is Princess Sharon, and I’m actually a lot like Disney princess Cinderella. Really.

Like Cinderella, I have an incredibly sweet personality and am always upbeat despite everything I have been through. And if I could sing, I would turn everything into a song! Unfortunately, I am also overlooked for the cats with the fancier coats. So we do have a lot in common, except those singing mice. I’ll be honest—they would not have lasted that long around me.

Like the glass slipper was a perfect fit for Cinderella, I hope to be the perfect fit for your home. The best thing about me is that I fit purr-fectly into any arms!
My pretty orange coat looks like it is covered in cinders, but that is just how I am. I promise I am not dirty!

A dream is a wish your heart makes. My heart wishes to have the loving home I deserve. Please come visit me at Small Miracles Cat Rescue. You can even take me home in a horse-drawn pumpkin carriage. I promise I won’t hiss at the horse too much, but I probably will sing the whole way home!

ADOPTED: Take the Cat, Leave the Cannoli

ADOPTED!
How you doin? I’m Pauly. Not to be confused with Jersey Shore’s Pauly D, that is. GTL just ain’t my thing. Too much work if you ask me.

I’m the lay back and smoke a cigar type of guy if you know what I mean. I’m a bit shy, but I like to think of myself as a ladies man; a family man. Get to know me and I’ll warm right up. After all, a man who doesn't spend time with his cat can never be a real man.

I’m gonna make you an offer you can’t refuse: take me home and I will love you fur-ever. I’m good lookin', sweet and Italian-- what more could you want? I won’t ask for much.

But some day, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. But uh, until that day, oh wait, I will want my head scratched every day.

Come visit me and the family at Small Miracles Cat Rescue. Gotta stick up for the family. You know what they say, never go against the family. Capisce?

ADOPTED: Find Good Karma at Small Miracles

ADOPTED!

Namaste! My name is Karma and I am a stunning young lady. My beautiful, mysterious blue and amber eyes may be the first thing to grab your attention. After all, how could you not be mesmerized by such beauty?

But soon after meeting me, you will be more captivated by my sweet nature and eagerness to play. I melt in your arms as soon as you pick me up and soak up every drop of affection you have to offer. When you put me down, I look right back up at you with my beautiful eyes begging you to play with me.

Like my namesake, I believe that my current actions will influence my future lives. (I do have nine lives you know!) If I am sweet, cuddly and friendly, that means I will get a good home, right? I sure do hope so!

If you think I am the small miracle that will make your family complete, please come visit me at Small Miracles Cat Rescue in Ellicott City.

P.S. You are all invited to Small Miracles Birthday Bash this Saturday!

Tuesday, July 12, 2011

ADOPTED: Proud Mary Keeps on Purring

My name is Mary Jane and I’m a whole lotta woman! My big, soulful eyes will draw you in and make you want to get to know my story. You will see that despite living in a drug fueled home for so long, I remain a gentle spirit longing for a forever and kind home.

This proud Mary keeps on rolling despite her past. My break for freedom came when I was rescued during a drug raid.

Now at Small Miracles, I must admit, I do like to be pampered. I just melt when brushed and love affection. And needless to say, I love food; wet, dry, or treats, I’ll take it!

I am eagerly waiting that special day when I get to go to my forever home. Please stop by and visit me. Take a look into my soulful eyes and you will quickly see that I am the small big miracle that will make your family complete.

Help Break This Cat out of the Joint

Hello there! My name is Whitey. (And yes, I realize I do not have any white on me.)

I’m not quite sure how I got that name, but if any Feds are reading this, I swear I have no relations with recently captured crime boss Whitey Bulger, though we do have one thing in common—we are both behind bars.

Unfortunately for me, I am just an innocent 9-year-old boy looking for a new home.

While at a foster home, I enjoyed head scratches, watching TV in the evening, relaxing on the deck, and long walks on the beach. Wait, scratch that last part, cats don’t like water.

I enjoy being around people and am very social. However, I would prefer to be the only cat in your home. Come visit me and my fellow gangsters—I mean furry friends—at Small Miracles Cat Rescue in Ellicott City. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter and updated shots.

Black Cats Looking for Luck

Only 2 have been adopted, 2 are still available!

Could you pick just one of us to be featured as Cat of the Week? Didn’t think so!

I’m Percy and these are my siblings: Pandora, Paddington, and Pepper. We are three month old bundles of energy. We love to play and zoom around the shelter as fast as our little legs will carry us.

Did you know that because we are all black, we are the least likely to be adopted? Sad, I know! We don’t understand either.

Need more reasons to adopt us or any other black cat? Well, you can always find us in the snow, we match any décor, and black is always in style. Personally, I like to think of us as mini black panthers.

Please come visit us or any of the other 7 black kittens at Small Miracles Cat Rescue. We are already spayed or neutered so we are ready to be the small miracle that completes your family!

ADOPTED: Marooned Cat Looking For a New Crew

ADOPTED
Ahoy matey! My name is Pirate and I am one of the many wonderful cats at Small Miracles Cat Rescue.

Why the name Pirate? Sadly, I was shot in the face with a bb gun and lost an eye. But I certainly do not let that discourage me from being outgoing and one of the most popular cats at the shelter!

I am only 2 years old so I still love to play. Will I be the Small Miracle that makes your family complete? Come visit me and my buddies at Small Miracles Cat Rescue in Ellicott City or at the PETCO or Today’s Pet in Columbia.

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter and updated shots.
